GitGrowly is local-first: your notes and drafts live on your Mac. This policy explains what leaves your Mac, why, and what we keep. We don't sell personal information, show ads, or use trackers.
Library ideas, drafts, conversation history, your tone and never-say list, and preferences are stored in a local database on your Mac. Your sign-in session is kept in the macOS Keychain. You can export or delete this data from Settings, and it stays on your Mac until you do.
Drafting, Threads features and license checks need a GitGrowly account with a verified email, provided through Firebase Authentication. We process your email address, Firebase user ID and session credential to sign you in and to link your subscription to your account.
When you ask for a draft, GitGrowly sends the request, any source you attach, a limited part of the conversation, your tone and never-say list, and the target platform to our service and to OpenAI over an encrypted connection. We don't store your prompts or the generated drafts in our database or logs, and requests are sent with OpenAI's response storage turned off. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.
If you connect Threads, we store your Threads account ID, username, an encrypted access token, imported account and post metrics, and metadata about posts you publish through GitGrowly. When you schedule a post, its text and any image are held only until Threads publishes it or you cancel it, then removed; while publishing, the image is available to Threads at an unguessable link. GitGrowly publishes only after you click Post or Schedule and confirm. You can disconnect Threads in Settings at any time, which removes the stored connection and cancels scheduled posts.
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing address and payment details, and processes them under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. We receive and keep your order and subscription details (plan, status, renewal and cancellation dates, country for tax, and license key status) so we can give you access, handle refunds and support, and meet tax and accounting obligations.
Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. Some of them process data outside your country; we rely on their contractual safeguards for those transfers.
Settings → Account → Delete account removes our server-side Threads posts and media, encrypted connection tokens, OAuth state, insight snapshots and post metadata, usage records, then your Firebase sign-in and the local Keychain session. A Threads post that is already publishing can't be recalled. Order, invoice and subscription records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, by us and by Lemon Squeezy. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription; cancel it first. Data on your Mac stays until you delete it.
You can export or delete local data, disconnect Threads, delete your account, or decline AI drafting and write posts yourself. You can also ask us for a copy of your server-side data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing us, and we'll respond within the time the law requires. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law or the GDPR.
